Origins ​

Origins is YouCan's reference theme, built for performance, customizibility, and modern design with complete RTL support. It follows a mobile-first approach with a minimal CSS footprint, custom web components that prevent layout shifts.

Design Philosophy ​

We designed and developed Origins using a set of best practices:

• Design - Origins was built with the experience of customers and sellers in mind. We followed a mobile-first approach when designing Origins to make give the customers a seemless experience, and reduced the customization steps to a minimum without comprimizing freedom for the sellers.

• Performance - Performance optimization guided every design decision in Origins. By embracing modern CSS techniques and native browser capabilities, while using JavaScript only for essential interactions, we've created a lightweight theme that delivers faster loading times and better experiences across all devices.

• Accessibility - Origins embeds accessibility at every level: full RTL support using logical properties, proper ARIA implementation, and accessible color controls — creating a storefront that works for everyone, regardless of ability or language.

• Use of sections and blocks - Origins uses a component-based structure that separates functionality into customizable sections and blocks. This empowers sellers to create unique page layouts.
